Redmi Note 17 series launches in Nigeria on September 30, with a 10,000mAh battery

Xiaomi is officially bringing the Redmi Note 17 series to Nigeria on September 30, and the headline here is simple: battery. The top model, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, packs a massive 10,000mAh battery, and Xiaomi says it can last up to four days on a charge.

To be honest, 10,000mAh used to be power bank territory. Now it’s inside a phone, and this one still supports 100W fast charging plus 27W reverse charging, so you can top up your earbuds or another phone from it.

Here’s how the series lines up:

• Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G: 10,000mAh, 100W charging, Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED at 120Hz, 50MP main camera with OIS, 8MP ultrawide and a 32MP selfie camera
• Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G: 8,340mAh, 67W charging, 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED that goes up to 3,500 nits
• Redmi Note 17: 7,700mAh, 45W charging and a big 6.99-inch AMOLED at 120Hz

All three run HyperOS 3 on Android 16, and Xiaomi is promising four years of Android updates and six years of security updates. That’s a big deal in this price range.

Of course, the question every Nigerian buyer wants answered is the price, and Xiaomi hasn’t announced local pricing yet. For context, the series starts from €599.90 in Europe, but Nigerian pricing is usually set differently, so don’t use that as a guide.

One more thing: if you see the Note 17 series on sale before the official launch, those are imports, and they may not come with a local warranty. Either way, it’s better to wait a few days for official prices.
