OPPO Reno 16t launches with a 200MP camera and a 6,700mAh battery in a compact body

OPPO has launched the Reno 16t in China, and this one is interesting because it packs a lot into a small phone. You get a 200MP main camera and a 6,700mAh battery, all inside a compact 6.32-inch body that’s just 8.36mm thick.

The camera setup is the main attraction. The 200MP main sensor comes with OIS, and it’s joined by a 50MP ultrawide with a 116° field of view and a 50MP 3.5x telephoto that also has OIS. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera. That’s a full flagship-style camera kit in a mid-range phone.

The display is a 6.32-inch AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits of brightness. Powering everything is the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super.

On the other hand, the battery is where the Reno 16t really stands out for a phone this size. The 6,700mAh cell supports 80W fast charging, and the phone is rated IP68 and IP69K for dust and water, so it can handle more than a splash.

Prices in China start at 3,699 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB model and go up to 4,499 yuan for 16GB + 512GB. Sales start on September 28.

Is it coming to Nigeria? OPPO hasn’t said anything about a global launch yet. The Reno series usually reaches other markets later, sometimes under a slightly different name, so we’ll keep an eye on it. Regardless, if you like small phones with big batteries, this one is worth watching.
