Tired of carrying a power bank everywhere because your phone can’t make it to evening? The new Oppo K14 Plus packs an 8,000mAh battery, and it might be the answer.
I’ve been a fan of phones with big batteries for a while now, especially with our power situation in Nigeria. In today’s post, we’ll be looking at the Oppo K14 Plus to see if it’s one of the best battery phones you can get right now. Here’s what we’ll cover: battery life, display, performance, durability, cameras, and price.

Battery Life
This is where the K14 Plus shines. You get an 8,000mAh battery in a body that’s just 8.4mm thin and weighs about 207g. That’s impressive for a battery this size.
It supports 45W fast charging and 10W reverse charging, so you can top up your earbuds or a friend’s phone. There’s also bypass charging, which powers the phone directly while gaming so the battery doesn’t heat up. Oppo says the battery keeps at least 80% of its capacity after six years.
Display
You get a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. Oppo says it can reach 3,600 nits of peak brightness, so it should stay clear even under the afternoon sun.
Performance
It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Max, with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There’s also a 5,000mm² vapor chamber, a cooling system that spreads heat away from the chip, to keep it cool during long gaming sessions.
Durability
The K14 Plus is rated IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66. In a nutshell, it can handle dust, rain, a dip in water, and even hot, high-pressure water jets.

Cameras
On the back, there’s a 50MP main camera with OIS (optical image stabilization, which reduces blur from shaky hands) and a 2MP secondary camera. The front gets a 16MP selfie camera. That aside, the 2MP camera doesn’t add much, so the main camera does most of the work.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Huge 8,000mAh battery in an 8.4mm body
- Bypass and reverse charging
- Bright 144Hz AMOLED screen
- IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 ratings
- Good cooling for gaming
Cons
- The 2MP secondary camera is mostly there for show
- 45W charging is decent, not the fastest
- Not sold officially in Nigeria
Price
The Oppo K14 Plus starts at Rs 29,999 (about $314) for 6GB+128GB, which is around ₦435,000. The 8GB+128GB model costs Rs 32,999, and the 8GB+256GB model costs Rs 35,999. It comes in Solar Orange and Star White and goes on sale from October 8 on Flipkart and Oppo’s India store.
Finally, should you get the Oppo K14 Plus? Here’s my verdict.
If battery life is your number one priority, this is one of the most exciting phones at its price. Of course, Oppo doesn’t sell the K series in Nigeria officially, so you’ll have to import it. Either way, I hope Oppo brings this battery to its A series here soon.
