The iPhone Duo isn’t even out yet, and a new leak already shows features Apple hasn’t talked about. Leaker pdfu found five new StandBy faces for the iPhone Duo hidden in iOS 27.1 code.
Three of them have names: Flow, Fade and a Snoopy face. The other two haven’t been named yet. According to the leak, the faces are part of a redesigned StandBy app that isn’t fully in the current test software, but pdfu was able to get some of them running.
Now, the bigger news is how StandBy works on the Duo. On a normal iPhone, StandBy only turns on when the phone is charging and lying on its side. On the iPhone Duo, it reportedly works even when the phone isn’t charging, which makes sense for a foldable you can stand up like a small display.
The leak also points to two home-focused views:
- Home Camera: shows up to nine home camera feeds at once
- Home Modular: a layout for your smart-home controls
To be honest, this makes the iPhone Duo sound like it could double as a small smart display for your desk or bedside.
The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Pre-orders open on October 16, and it launches on October 23. Apple hasn’t confirmed these StandBy features, so treat them as a leak for now.
