Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra is getting a new camera design, but the two biggest Samsung leakers are telling slightly different stories about what it looks like.
OnLeaks, who usually shares renders based on factory CAD files, shows the S27 Ultra with a pill-shaped camera module. In his renders, the telephoto camera sits at the top, followed by the microphone, laser autofocus and the flash.
On the other hand, Ice Universe says the main camera sits at the bottom of the module, with the flash placed above it. Early cases for the S27 Ultra also show cutouts that don’t fully match either version, which has made things even more confusing.
What both leakers agree on is this: the telephoto camera stays, and so does laser autofocus. There were rumors that Samsung might drop laser AF, but it looks like it’s still here.
That aside, this would be the biggest change to the Ultra’s camera design in a few years. The S22 Ultra through the S26 Ultra all used separate camera rings on a flat back.
The Galaxy S27 series is expected in early 2027, going by Samsung’s usual timing. Of course, this is all based on leaks and case renders, and Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything yet. We’ll update this story as more details come out.
