New Leaks Showcase Apple’s Upcoming iPhone 17

The launch of Apple’s much-anticipated flagship device for 2025, the iPhone 17, is fast approaching. Apple is set to debut the device, which it has taglined ‘Awe-dropping’, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at a highly anticipated event.

The event will be taking place at 10 AM PT at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Apple Park in Cupertino, California. Due to the time difference, that will be 6:00 PM WAT (West Africa Time) in Nigeria, during which Apple will officially launch the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max

As anticipation rises, many fans of the iPhone series are curious to see what Apple has installed in its latest generation. So it’s no surprise that a short video which was supposedly shot at a factory floor shows a new look at the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which features a significant change.

The 10-second video shows a silver iPhone 17 Pro Max which has a huge rectangular camera island that cuts across the back of the iPhone much like the Google Pixel. This is a divergence from Apple's long-standing corner bump design. It also has three main lenses arranged in a triangle and smaller sensors.

This video seems to confirm the long-standing rumour about a change in the iPhone’s camera redesign. The design is consistent with recent mockups of dummy hardware and accessories, which was reported by the New York Post. However, it is currently impossible to confirm the validity of the video.

Apple has a lot more to prove this year. After the iPhone 16 failed to launch with Apple Intelligence, expectations are much higher this time around. According to Bloomberg, the star of Apple’s lineup for the year is its new super-slim iPhone, a new model that’s the iPhone version of a MacBook Air. The phone is much sleeker than the average iPhone but might have shorter battery life.

Apple is also expected to announce a standard version of the iPhone 17 alongside new Pro models. These models will feature new processors and improvements to the camera and battery life. However, as is the norm with Apple, the Pro models will offer more advanced cameras, bigger screens, slightly more powerful processors and a titanium-built design when compared to the standard model.
